Assiniboine College is inviting General Contractors and Major Subcontractors to to submit a proposal in response to a Future Procurement for the Prairie Innovation Centre of Sustainable Agriculture (PIC).
The PIC project comprises the following summary of work :
1. Demolition of the existing central wing of the historic Parklands building and
selective demolition throughout the historic Parklands Building. The
approximate footprint of demolition of the central wing is 15,000 SF.
2. Renovation of 152,000 SF of gross floor area within the existing historic
Parklands building over six floors including work in the existing crawlspace
and attic.
3. Construction of a 38,600 SF three storey addition to the North side of the
existing historic building.
4. Extensive site upgrades include parking lots, a new geothermal field, two
new stormwater detention ponds, alterations and additions to buried
services and utilities around the property including but not limited to water
mains, sanitary, storm sewers, steam and gas lines, emergency power and
fiber optic communications.
5. Significant site excavation to a general depth of approx. 5m to 6m below
existing grade. Deep excavation will require an engineered shoring system
to protect the existing shallow foundations supporting the Parkland Building
foundations from disturbance.
Vendors must pre-qualify for each scope or portion of the services they want to be
able to compete for in the future procurement. Each scope of work will be evaluated
and pre-qualified individually.
