DESCRIPTION OF PROCUREMENT
The Rotman School of Management is embarking on an upgrade of 6 Classrooms in its North Building to modernize the A/V components and enable hybrid teaching to occur. Most of the existing technology within each of the Classrooms will be replaced under this RFP with additional equipment being added to tie into our existing Crestron DM series infrastructure. It should be noted that the intent of this RFP is to purchase and install all the equipment that would allow the Rotman School to have 2 LCD display monitors at the front of each of the 6 classrooms, with the stipulation that only 2 classrooms can be done in any given year due to constraint resulting from our heavy utilization of all classrooms with the Rotman buildings year-round, not simply in a traditional University School year. As such, with respect to submissions, installation covered by this RFP will be for upgrades to all classrooms backend technology and where applicable, audio, but tying in existing single laser projector in 4 classrooms, with 2 classroom having existing single laser replaced with 2 large LCD screens at the front of class.
The required equipment for each area for upgrade is identified in Schedule G. Currently the University has Crestron as the solution in place throughout the school with respect to AV/Multi-media. The equipment named in Schedule G is listed for reference to the technical specifications, products with equivalent functionality/technology will be considered, however the expectation is all existing cabling and electrical will be reused. Should there be any requirement to install additional Ethernet cabling (cat. 6 or better) and/or electrical work, this will be handled by Rotman’s Building Management office. Proponents should detail in their Proposal if their products will require any additional cabling or modifications to continue to use the existing technology to support the control room control panels and the accessories from a central location.
The delivery, installation, system testing, and warranty support/service will take place at the following location:
