210860 - Official Community Plan Update

The District of Invermere is seeking Request for Proposals for professional community planning services. The services requested include but are not limited to updating the District of Invermere (DOI) Imagine Invermere Official Community Plan (OCP) so that it is systematically aligned and integrated with the District of Invermere Interim Housing Needs Report (HNR), (2024). Those services will include:

1. Updating all relevant sections of the current OCP Goals, Objectives, and Policies to reflect the context and needs identified in the DOI Interim HNR, 2024.
2. Review of the Current OCP Land Use Plan in the context of the 5-year and 20-year housing needs identified in the DOI Interim HNR, 2024. 3. Creation of descriptive definitions for the OCP Land Use designations carried forward, modified, or derived to achieve the housing needs identified in the DOI Interim HNR, 2024.
4. Review and make recommendations to the District of Invermere Zoning Bylaw 1145, 2002 housing densities and opportunities to ensure they support the OCP Land Use Plan designations and housing needs identified in the DOI Interim HNR, 2024.
5. Development of a public engagement strategy including Council and public engagement sessions and stakeholder participation in the OCP Housing Needs alignment and update
