In 2019, the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) initiated a prequalification process followed by a public call for tenders for a Content Management Solution (CMS) over a 5-year period, including renewal options. Episerver, rebranded as OPTIMIZELY NORTH AMERICA INC., was selected. Initially, the Digital Asset Management (DAM) solution was provided and managed by DigiZuite, a subcontractor of Optimizely. In 2022, Optimizely informed BDC that the solution must be directly managed with DigiZuite, resulting in a new agreement for a 3-year extension outside the competitive public market. Now, another 3-year extension is planned for DigiZuite, now KeyShot A/S. BDC intends to reassess the market during this extension period in 2026. This extension will allow BDC to complete all necessary activities to document its requirements and potentially proceed with a public call for tenders, ensuring a smooth transition to the selected supplier.
